FULL DESCRIPTION
With a well developed beautiful colour, this handsome English joined and pegged stool dates from c. 1680 and has a lovely solid burr elm top and channel carved gunbarrel turned oak legs.

Principally original but with some old woodworm, repairs and replacements. There is later piece of oak spliced in to one foot and one stretcher is replaced as are some of the glue blocks beneath the seat - restorations of this nature are entirely usual for a stool made 320 years ago and are reflected in our price.

The burr elm seat with lovely natural wear and patina, the stool is of attractively small proportions, robust and usable, a really charming example.
