FULL DESCRIPTION
A truly lovely and very rarely seen solid elm refectory table of large size with a very substantial and heavy which is completely original to the base.

The base with well turned supporting columns rising from wide and attractively scroll carved sleigh feet, united by two substantial stretchers, each with central carved scroll.

The table dates from c. 1860 and has a particularly lovely colour and natural soft patina, the grain to the elm is swirling and very attractive, and the table is in exceptionally good condition for age.

The top can be removed from the base for transport but both sections are very very heavy so a two person delivery will be required on this item or some strong pairs of hands to help our courier offload will be needed.

Minor bruises and marks consistent with age and careful use. The table has iron brackets which brace the three planks together at equal intervals below the top and allow for very firm fixing to the base which has a corresponding iron bracket at the top of each leg.

A beautiful table and highly recommended - one not to miss!
