FULL DESCRIPTION
A good late 17th century oak English dresser with three lovely geometrically moulded drawers. Original pegged oak top of three varying width boards. The whole with a pleasing colour and good patina. Lovely original split turnings flank each draw with fielded panels to sides and substantial original backboard.

Most attractive and well turned front supports with boxed stretcher, the rear legs original also but with a small amount of re-tipping to the feet (no more than half an inch). The depletion of the rear stiles is common due to the damp floors the dresser sat on in the few hundred years of life.

The solid brass knob handles are 19th century replacements for the original single drops. They sit in the original holes and suit the dresser very well.

The dresser has a triangular scarfed in repair to the front left hand corner which is well blended and the usual minor marks, small alterations, dings and bruises consistent with age and use and adding to the attractive character. The drawer runners have been replaced - again entirely usual for age and reflected in our low buy it now price.
