FULL DESCRIPTION
With a very good ripe melon colour, a charming satinwood table dating from c. 1790 and from a private collection.

The table has long elegant legs edged with walnut inlays which terminate in well defined tall spade feet (has never had casters). Each of the apron curved panels have fine walnut stringing and the top is encircled with a deep cross-banded border with slender inner circlet of crossbanded walnut with box strung borders.

The top opens smooth and level to reveal a cerise baize which is a later replacement in good condition with no wear or stains. In one area the baize has receded/shrunk back by a few mms from the inner crossbanded border but is firmly fixed and not lifting or moving any further and a slight warp to the upper bed which leaves a small gap to the right of the table when closed. There is an old scrarfed in repair to the rear leg extension (never visible as this sits at the back of the table) and which you can see in our photos. These minor faults are reflected in our asking price.

The excellent colour and patina of the table will light up any room. It is robust and suitable for use, opening to an attractive circular card table or when closed a beautiful and elegant demi lune side table.
