FULL DESCRIPTION
A fine quality George III Library chair. The frame in Cuban mahogany with cabriole front legs acanthus carved at the knees and terminating in scrolled leaf carved feet. Cabriole rear legs with shaped hocks and matching scrolled feet. The deeply reeded out-swept arms with scroll terminals and backswept supports with raised borders encircling a carved anthemion.

The frame original beneath the fabric (some images available of the frame on request). Newly and professionally re-upholstered in a Gainsborough Silk Weaving Company thickly woven pure silk fabric which retails at 240 per meter and which faithfully reproduces an 18th century English fabric discovered on a chair on the same period.

A substantial and heavy chair with a broad and deep well padded seat and gentle well padded rake to the back, extremely comfortable and completely original with no worm or later timbers, no creaks or loose joints. Small dings and bruises consistent with age and use.

An exceptional chair and rare to find one in Cuban mahogany and in such superior original condition.
