FULL DESCRIPTION
Made by a skilled craftsman in around 1705 with wonderful expansive cabriole legs to front each with carved scrolled hocks and wide puddled feet. The well shaped splat and curvaceous back has a comfortable gentle rake and a very finely carved scrolled top. The shaped seat rail has a drop in well padded seat pad newly covered in a thick gold and crimson pure silk fabric.

The rear legs of rounded and swept back form are blocked at the hip and joined by an elegant stretcher.

The chair made in solid walnut which has developed an exemplary rich colour.

Superior condition, without breaks, repairs or later elements. Very well cared for and robust with no looseness to the frame, usable and strikingly handsome.

A truly lovely early walnut chair, strongly recommended.
