FULL DESCRIPTION
The yew wood frame has a beautiful colour and rich patina.  Very well turned legs and stretchers, the front legs with carved Tudor Rose motif and the frame peg jointed throughout. Casters later added and then removed, probably in the 19th century, causing one sectional loss to the front left foot - as shown in our photographs but not affecting sturdiness of the chair.

Upholstered in a Silk mix red and gold fabric in very good condition with no damage or noticeable wear, fringed to the upper back and finished to the seat rail with fringe and antique brass nails.

Well padded, very comfortable, the chair is heavy and robust with no loose joints, and Is entirely suitable for use.

It is rare to find seat furniture in yew wood that has survived in such excellent condition, and particularly rare in such an early chair.

A lovely William and Mary period example - guaranteed to delight.
