FULL DESCRIPTION
With a lovely colour this beautiful English walnut dressing table has superb figured and burr veneers throughout with feather banding and crossbanded borders to top and drawer fronts.
A large, heavy and fine example of early Georgian walnut set on substantial original walnut cabriole legs to front and rear. The drawers retain their original dovetailed oak linings - very slender boards in solid and clean condition and with original small brass handles, escutcheon and iron lock.
Principally very original including the backboard with some replaced veneers and with a scarfed in fine shim to the centre of the top - put in a fair time ago probably to close an old natural shrinkage gap - again well blended and hard to see as shown in our photographs.
The whole peg jointed and first phase construction and dressed with extremely thick hand cut walnut veneers over an original pine carcass.
A beautifully crafted, practical and elegant early 18th century dressing table which will light up any room.
