FULL DESCRIPTION
A very handsome and substantial oak wainscot chair of typical form with a most attractive carved back panel with pair of doves and fruiting foliage over a chip carved ground. The seat rails carved with C scrolls and running strapwork.The central panel inlaid with holy and ebony marquetry to create a stylised tulip.
The well shaped arms with punched and cross carved decoration on original carved fluted supports.
All set on well carved fluted front legs, late Tudor in form, and with square cut back legs, peg jointed with depletions, losses, marks and later elements.
Solid, heavy, robust and a very attractive chair of substantial proportions
