FULL DESCRIPTION
A very good 19th century French brown patinated cast bronze and carved ivory figure of a man in medieval costume playing a harp, the canted square base bearing cast signature "Debut" and titled plaque. In superior original condition with only light wear to the finish consistent with age and use, original gilding and with original strings to his lyre, now with some play.

By Jean Didier Debut (b. 1824, d. 1893).

Stamped below base FC and 183 and with rarely seen original penned signature.
