FULL DESCRIPTION
Of excellent colour and condition, a very elegant 18th century solid walnut stool.

Beautiful serpentine solid walnut seat rails and long cabriole legs with rolled channel carved borders and scrolled peg toes in the French manner.

The legs carved to accentuate the tall raised turret shaped hips, and with a deep rolled and shaped border to lower edges of the seat rail.

Solid with no breaks or repairs, original colour and very sturdy and robust condition. Newly re-upholstered in a top quality heavyweight pure silk fabric of a caramel gold colour embroidered with pale honey coloured flowers and sage foliage, the fabric having a natural soft sheen.
The walnut seat rails beneath the stool have some holes from past upholstery and are extremely substantial with no movement in the joints.

A beautiful stool c. 1780 and a lot of workmanship in the serpentine shaping of the rails and aprons, seat rails below the fabric in sound and strong condition with holes from past upholstery but solid and original.
